Post No54...VIDEO How does 'challenging behaviour' affect a care placement?
Posted on 24th June 2024 at 07:00
Often, if a care home serves notice to a resident due to behavioural concerns, it proves very difficult for the same person to be placed in another care home. Many care homes provide dementia care, usually residential based or nursing based, but not complex based.
This can lead to families calling multiple care homes and being told the same thing over and over, which is essentially a decline to admit the resident. Understandably, this can cause distress on top of an already difficult situation.
The video in this post discusses this in more detail, and offers some guidance on possible solutions to the issue.
